The middle and right figures shows me with my mom and dad reef walking.

Above are some noddies. The middle figure is of newborns learning to fly.

When we arrived in Heron Island, it was during the turtle season. The left and middle figures shows a baby turtle. When they hatch, they wait for a particular time and then they just head straight for the ocean. Their swiftness can surprise you both on land and in water.

The far right picture is of a black heron; hence the name Heron Island.

We swam with some reef sharks; they are harmless if you leave them alone but it is still freaky to swim next to them. The left figure is of a World War II ship that was towed here. It is used to break up the waves so that approaching ships can have a smoother ride.
